A free plan: rooftop, bay and viewpoints

Sunset in Taganga

The sun drops behind the bay and Taganga turns gold. All you have to do is pick your spot.

A group of travellers wave from a hilltop at sunset, with the sea and the Taganga coast behind them.

Self-guided

Not a paid tour — a plan you put together yourself.

From the hostel: guests point to the rooftop terrace, with its swings, as the place for sunset (Booking.com and Hostelworld reviews).

On the beach: Santa Marta’s guide recommends watching the sunset from Taganga beach with a beer in hand.

From the hills: the trails around the bay have wide sea views, like in the group photo. Go with company, take water and a torch for the walk down, and ask us for directions.
