In October 2023 Nirvana ran a trek between the Taganga hills and Tayrona to Bonito Gordo, the beach where the reserve begins: leaving between 4:30 and 5:00 am, sunrise from the mountain with a Colombian coffee, the descent in daylight and a beach for snorkelling, fishing or simply lying around. Ask us whether there’s a departure on your dates.
Tayrona National Natural Park protects dry forest, mangroves, reefs and sacred sites of the Kogui, Wiwa, Arhuaco and Kankuamo peoples. You enter by land (Zaino, Calabazo, Palangana or Bahía Concha) or by sea, including from Taganga. Parques Nacionales says visitor accident insurance is mandatory and tickets are sold at the gate, without advance reservations.
Annual closures published by Parques Nacionales (checked 28 Oct 2026): 1–15 February, 1–15 June and 19 October – 2 November. Dates, fees, opening hours and access can change.
